Godfrey Baguma: World Ugliest Man's Wife Says Those Who Laughed at Her Regretted after He Became Famous

The wife of a man touted as the world's ugliest man has said the people who laughed at her over 28 years ago are now regretting since he became famous.

Kate met Godfrey through his brother

Kate Namanda met Godfrey Baguma through his brother who had also gone to marry in the Kyazenga district in central Uganda.

In an interview with Afrimax English, Namanda said that people thought she was insane, but they have since regretted their words.

"He is too ugly, we don't want him," said Namanda about her family's reactions to her new fiancee.

But Namanda who was already in love with her new man would have none of it and vowed to go and live with him.

The couple postponed marriage

Her friends did not also mince their words and said that the man's looks did not match her beauty.

The couple decided to postpone marriage because of the intense opposition from their loved ones and only got married after having four children.

Now Baguma and Namanda are a shining example of a happy couple and their friends and family are regretting because he is a good and loving family man who also became famous.

When asked if he followed Baguma for his money, Namanda refused saying he did have any then and doesn't have it now.

"I am going nowhere, don't even bother," she replied when asked what she would do if another man proposed.

Godfrey Baguma has rare condition

The musician was born as a normal child but a rare condition caused his head to start swelling and eventually damaged his face. He, however, said that he does not feel any pain.

According to the shoemaker, some experts from the UK wanted to fix his face but were unable to do it and opted to leave it as it is.

In 2000, Baguma met a man named Abtex who requested him to take part in a competition for the ugliest people in the area.

"When I stepped on stage and people saw me they ran away and that is when I realised I was ugly," said Godfrey.

Godfrey won the competition

He won the competition and when his wife saw him on TV she was elated at the achievement.

"When I heard it, I was filled with joy," said Namanda.

Baguma's musical career is doing well and he has performed as far as Russia. Some of his songs on YouTube boast a lot of likes with the leading one having about 15 million views.

"I am also a musician and because of how I look, people come and ask me to sing at their events," said Baguma.

"I add to the money I make from shoemaking because singing is not an everyday job," he added.

Godfrey Baguma marries 3rd wife

Before marrying his second wife, the comedian called it quits with his first wife. It is alleged that he found the mother of his two children cheating.
