Former Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce has been touted as the likely man to become Everton's manager.

The Tofees have had a season to forget so far as they have been languishing in the relegation zone all season.

Ronald Koeman was sacked after series of uninspiring performances which saw the Merseyside Club drop to the bottom three of the English Premier League.

Sam Allardyce has held talks with Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri over the managerial vacancy at Goodison Park.

Everton would have to pay a £2 million compensation fee, and he wants a two and a half year contract while Everton may only want to give him until the end of the season.

Allardyce would bring former Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare to Goodison Park as part of his backroom staff along with Palace and England goalkeeper coach Martyn Margetson.

Everton who recently got their first victory in two months after coming back from two goals down against Watford to win 3-2 will hope has an immediate impact on the team.

Only few managers are better than Sam Allardyce when it comes to helping a team survive relegation, he has done it with Bolton, Sunderland and Crystal Palace in recent years.
