YEN.com.gh is learning that the former board chairman of the local football club, Accra Hearts of Oak, Alhaji Sulemana Braimah, has died.
Inside sources from the family of Alhaji Braimah show that the former board chair of the football club died at the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness. He is therefore expected to be buried tomorrow in accordance with Muslim tradition as the exact time and place for the burial will be determined shortly.
Alhaji Braimah's tenure as head of the Accra Hearts of Oak is believed to have shored up the performance of the local football club which has seen the team become one of the most formidable and competitive in West Africa.
The Accra Heart of Oak football club recently celebrated its 107th anniversary with the collective resolve to making the club the best in Africa in terms of quality of players, financial self-reliance among other reforms.
