Kwesi Appiah advices KP Boateng on what to do to get Black Stars call-up

Black Stars coach, Kwesi Appiah, has indicated that he may hand Kevin-Prince Boateng a recall to the national team should the attacker apologise.

Commenting on Ghana’s lack of striking options at the moment, the 58-year-old said his doors are open to every Ghanaian player, including Boateng.

He was, however, quick to add that the Sassuolo forward must first apologise for his conduct which led to his suspension from the Black Stars in 2014.

Boateng, together with Sulley Muntari, was indefinitely suspended from the national team after both players displayed what was described as insubordination during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The pair were sacked from the Black Stars camp during the tournament in Brazil, before later being suspended from the national team.

Muntari has since written to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to apologise for his actions four years ago, but Boateng is yet to.

Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah says a recall is possible for Boateng, but only if the Sassuolo attacker first apologises.

The Black Stars is opened to every Ghanaian including Kevin-Prince Boateng and at the moment he is doing well. Moreover, Ghana is facing striking problems. Over the years we have been over dependent on Gyan,” he told Nhyira FM.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars were scheduled to play Sierra Leone in an AFCON qualifier on Thursday, but the game has been postponed due to a FIFA ban on the latter.
