The former president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nayntakyi, has reportedly agreed to sell his football club, Wa All Stars.

This decision, understands, was reached after Nyantakyi’s life ban by world football governing body, FIFA.

The decision to ban him was reached after FIFA's Adjudicatory Chamber of the Independent Ethics Committee reached a decision after the release of the football-related expose’ by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Titled Number 12, the video, which was premiered in June 2018, revealed acts of corruption in football administration in Ghana.

Prior to the ban, Nyantakyi was the president of both the GFA and the West African Football Union (WAFU).

He was also the first vice president of the Confederation of the African Football (CAF) and a member of FIFA’s executive council.

Shedding light on the new development, a representative of the club, Emmanuel Sannie, Nyantakyi and management members held a crises meeting a week ago.

The consensus reached after the meeting, he said, was to sell the Wa-based club.

"After a serious discussion, all parties agreed to put the club for sale to enhance the development of the club and future activities,” he said on Silver FM.

Meanwhile, management members of the club will be meeting chiefs and the supporters in Wa to explain the motive behind the decision.
