Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed that he has a cordial relationship with his biggest rival Lionel Messi who plays for Barcelona.
This statement from the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star comes after the two players met at the UEFA award ceremony in Monaco.
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were both beaten for UEFA's Men's Player of the Year award by Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk.
But before the winner of the award was announced, Ronaldo who was sitting next to Lionel Messi was asked if he is missing the rivalry between him and the Argentine.
You will recall that Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi were involved in tough rivalry in the Spanish La Liga for almost 10 years before the Portuguese left Real Madrid for Juventus.

"I was curious because we shared this stage for 15 years me and him.
"I don't know if that has ever happened in football, the same two guys on the stage at the same time, so it's not easy.
"Of course we have a good relationship, we have not had dinner together yet but I hope in the future,'' Ronaldo explained.
Ronaldo and Messi have both won the Ballon d'Or prestigious award five times each and the FIFA World Cup medal remains what is missing in their cabinets.
