Raphael Dwamena, a brilliant Ghanaian striker who plays for UD Levante has undergone successful surgery and is expected to return to the field after full recovery.
Ghanasoccernet.com who broke the news indicates that the 24-year-old was ruled out of action indefinitely after being diagnosed with a pulmonary condition last year October.
The career-threatening condition that the top striker suffered causes an irregular and fast heart rate and can result in dizziness, shortness of breath and tiredness.

This counts as the second major health scare that Dwamena has suffered in his professional career but he is expected to be sidelined for at least a month and then he would resume full-time.
Reports indicate that the operation which was conducted at the medical team of the Arrhythmias Unit of the health centre was coordinated by Dr Asso.
It was carried in the presence of the head of the medical services of Real Zaragoza, Dr De Los Martires comprised two phases.

The initial one was the conduct of an electrophysiological study. Subsequent to that came the implantation of an ICD (Implantable Automatic Defibrillator), which protects one in case of severe arrhythmias.
According to the contract Dwamena has with his club, he would keep receiving €800,000 (GHC 5 million) on an annual basis until 2022.
