Minutes after kissing Diego Maradona, former Man United and Man City star Carlos Tevez scored a dramatic late goal to give Boca Juniors the Argentine league title on Saturday, March 7.

The Buenos Aires club overcame Maradona’s side Gimnasia 1-0 to beat arch rivals River Plate to the title on the last day of the season.

Going into their final round of games, River Plate led Boca Juniors by a point, and could have won the title with a victory.

However, they could only manage a 1-1 draw away at Atletico Tucuman after coming from behind as Boca Juniors dug deep to record a 1-0 win at home to Gimnasia.

Boca got the three points they required to leapfrog their rivals when Tevez powered home from 20 meters out with 18 minutes remaining.

It was Boca’s third league title in four years and their 34th as they draw closer to River's all-time record of 36 titles with their last coming in 2014.

Tevez's goal was his ninth in 17 league games this season but the 36-year-old needed luck to stir his team to victory.

Fans at the stadium witnessed Tevez giving Maradona a kiss on the lips just before the start of the game.

And according to Tevez, he had to do that for luck as Maradona who had two spells at Boca Juniors as a player, made a return to the club as manager of Gimnasia.

"I knew I had to kiss Diego, I was lucky that way...sometimes you have to look for luck," Tevez said after the game.

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Carlos Tevez has confirmed that he was gifted a Lamborghini during his reign at Man United.

The 36-year-old Argentine star spent just two seasons at Old Trafford scoring 34 goals and 14 assists in 99 appearances.

His short spell at the Theatre of Dreams saw him win two Premier League titles, one Champions League and four other domestic and continental trophies.

Tevez however said that Wayne Rooney gave him the car after turning up for training with the Audi car the Red Devils gave all of them.

"At Manchester United training, players would turn up with a Ferrari or a Lamborghini.

"Everyone, even the worst player, would have a Ferrari. I turned up in the Audi that the club gave you and they all bugged me about it as if it was a Fiat 600.

"I spoke to Rooney and, the crazy guy that he is, he told me 'take the Lamborghini'. I went, without registering, around Manchester with this car, he gave it to me," Tevez said.
