Roger Mayweather, the uncle and former trainer of Floyd Mayweather Jnr. has been passed on at the age of 58 years.

Mayweather's father, Floyd has taken to social media to confirm the death of his younger brother.
Mayweather senior wrote, "We are saddened with the recent news of Roger Mayweather’s passing. Our hearts go out to the Mayweather family and we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. We thank you all for the outpouring of love and support during this time. Roger’s spirit lives on with us forever."
He trained Floyd for the first two years of his career and helped him become professional in 1996.

Roger's health had been in a declining state for years and Floyd revealed that after-effects of his successful boxing career was the cause.
"My uncle Roger Mayweather has lost a lot of memory from the sport of boxing," Floyd said in an interview in 2015.
"He’s only in his 50s, but it seems like he’s an old man in his 80s."

Roger had been a professional boxer until 1999, when he retired as a 37-year-old with a record of 59-13, and 35 knockouts.
He was a two-weight champion, holding the lineal super featherweight and WBA titles for two years from 1987 to 1989.
YEN.com.gh previously reported how Mayweather's ex-lover and mother to his three children, Josie Harris, was confirmed dead.

Harris was found dead at her home in Valencia, California on the night of Monday, March 9.
According to TMZ, the mother of Floyd's three kids was pronounced dead after police found her unresponsive inside her car at around 9.30pm.
