COVID-19: Drogba donates hospital worth $1 million for screening in Ivory Coast
Former Chelsea striker, Didier Drogba has made a donation worth $1 million to his country Ivory Coast as his contribution to the fight against the COVID-19.

Didier Drogba donated his foundation’s medical facility, the Laurent Pokou hospital to his country’s government in their fight against the pandemic.
According to Goal.com, the said hospital is located in Attecoube, Abidjan.

Didier Drogba named the hospital after former Ivorian player-coach, Lauren Pokou.
The Ivorian legend passed in 2016.
Drogba made the donation to the Ivorian government on Sunday, April 12, 2020.
“We thank Drogba for this donation, which is considered an act of patriotism,” Toh Bi Irie, the Mayor of Abidjan said.
The hospital is yet to be fully completed but the government is expected to make it functional for its purposes soon.

Ivory Coast has recorded 533 cases of the coronavirus so far, the second-highest in West Africa behind Ghana with 566 cases.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Ghana maintained a 46th position on the FIFA ranking for March 2020 as the table remained almost static due to the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus which led to the suspension of all football activities worldwide.
The Black Stars and all the other national teams in the world could not play any international friendly matches in the month of March because football is currently on suspension.
