Lionel Messi appears to have moved on from his transfer saga with Barcelona after gifting a visually-impaired young Arsenal fan a pair of high-tech £4,200 glasses.

The 33-year-old Argentine superstar shows he has more to offer on the pitch as well as of it after teaming up with Israeli company OrCam to help visually-impaired people around the world.

Reports reveal that the tech company has developed 'MyEye device' to help people in that category read texts and identifying faces.

SunSport reports that the six-time Ballon d'Or winner has now decided to be gifting young people with inspirational stories the £4,200 device annually.

The publication added that some of the lucky kids will have a chance to meet the Argentine superstar.

Ten-year-old Gunners fan Mikey from Enfield is the latest to receive the life-changing £4,200 gadget.

SunSport reveals that no fewer than 12 visually-impaired people have received the device before the outbreak of deadly coronavirus.

While sharing the philosophy behind his gesture, Messi spoke about the effect that hearing their stories has had on him.

He said: "The emotion was incredible. Meeting with this amazing group of people from around the world was truly a magical and inspiring moment.

"Witnessing each of the members of the "Dream Team" trying out the OrCam MyEye features, it was clear that this would be a life-changing device for each of them.

"I am proud to be an OrCam Ambassador to truly make a difference for so many."
