Martha Bissih Tops Ghana Teen Choice Awards Nominations
Olympic Gold Medallist, Martha Bissah has received two nominations in the 2015 Ghana Teens Choice Awards, namely in the ‘Ultimate Choice Teen’ and ‘Choice Spartan’ categories. Ms Bissah won a Gold medal in the Girls' 800m race at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in a time of 2:04.90 minutes.
Also receiving two nominations is the 2014/2015 West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) top scorer, Hassan Mikail. The 2015 edition of the Ghana Teen Choice Awards will be held at the National Theatre on Saturday 12th September 2015.
The nominations and date for the event were announced by Organizers of the event at the launch in Accra last week. The launch also marked the commencement of public voting for all nominees and saw the official unveiling of a Ghana Teen Choice theme song and Music video as well as a flash mob dance routine.
Prof. Elsie Kaufman of University of Ghana, Professional sports broadcaster Garry Al Smith of Joy FM and Award winning Music Group VVIP will serve as consultants for the show. This year’s competition has 35 Nominees and 6 groups in 10 separate categories and an extra 6 categories to celebrate personalities who influence Teenagers in Ghana.
The Ghana Teen Choice Awards event was instituted in August 2014 to celebrate teen excellence and recognize various personalities who influence Teenagers across Ghana. The head of team explained that the TCA wasn’t reserved for teens only but all other public personalities whose activities affect and influence the lives of teenagers.
“This awards event should not be seen as a competition between nominees but as a way of encouraging teens to strive for excellence in everything they do. We take this opportunity to call on all Parents to come watch and support their kids on the event night.”
