Ghana defender, Jonathan Mensah has penned a two and a half year deal with Russian Club Anzhi Makhachkala.

Mensah’s club Evian Thonon Gaillard were demoted to the French Ligue 2 in their last campaign but he kept faith and was with the club till the move away now.
He sealed his move to the Russian top-flight side after completing his medical on Tuesday afternoon. Many analysts believe it is the right decision for the Black Stars defender and he could revive his career in Russia.

The 25-year-old had been linked with a move to EPL side Swansea City as his contract was set to run out at Evian.
Mensah has already joined his new club, Anzhi who are battling relegation in the Russian Premier League for their winter training camp in Spain.
