Nuno was sacked on Monday, October 1 after just 17 days in charge with Tottenham eight in the Premier League.

Through the club’s official website, Tottenham confirmed Conte has the option to extend his deal, which currently runs until the summer of 2023.

"I am extremely happy to return to coaching, and to do so at a Premier League club that has the ambition to be a protagonist again," said Conte.

This is Conte’s second stint in the Premier League, after initially managing Chelsea.

With Chelsea, the Italian won the Premier League in his first season (2016/17) and the FA Cup the following season before infamously being sacked n 2018.

He went on to join Italian giants Inter Milan where he led the Nerazzuri to their first Serie A title in 11 years before leaving in May after falling out with the club’s hierarchy.

Conte had been linked with Tottenham since the summer when the club did away with Jose Mourinho.

But at the time, negotiations were halted before Spurs eventually settled on former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

"Last summer our union did not happen because the end of my relationship with Inter was still too recent and emotionally too involved with the end of the season, so I felt that it wasn't yet the right time to return to coaching," he added.
"Now that the opportunity has returned, I have chosen to take it with great conviction."

Conte’s first assignment will be against Vitesse in the Europa Conference League on Thursday, November 4 before playing Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.
