Arsenal Advised to Sign Premier League Star to Give Them Chance of Winning Trophies
- Arsenal have been advised to sign Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak to improve their chances of winning a title
- The Gunners have unsuccessfully tried and failed to win the Premier League in the last two seasons
- Isak bagged 21 goals in the Premier League last season and would transform the Gunners if he joined them
Arsenal have tried and failed to win the Premier League for the last two seasons under Mikel Arteta.
Manchester City have pipped them both times, and the Gunners have made a slow start this season.
Former Arsenal star Alan Smith has urged the North London side to sign Newcastle United superstar Alexander Isak.
Arsenal came close to winning their first Premier League title in 20 years last season, but a slip late in the season cost them. This campaign, they are already eight points off the leaders after 12 games.
Arsenal told to sign Isak
The Gunners have lacked a reliable number nine since they started challenging for the league title. Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah, and Kai Havertz struggled to get enough goals for Aerteta's side.
Former Gunners star Alan Smith believes the Newcastle striker is the missing link in the Arsenal attack.
“I think Alexander Isak would definitely fit in at Arsenal,” Smith said. “It might be that he doesn’t play every week, but I am a big fan of his," Smith said via The Mirror.
"Technically, he is very good and I think you have to be in that Arsenal team. He’s somebody that’ll play on that last line more than Kai Havertz wants to do.”
The Swede scored a brilliant header for the Magpies to defeat Arsenal on November 2 in the Premier League. Smith added that Isak is the missing link in the Arsenal team and add depth.
“There’s a missing link in their attack and Isak would complete it."
Arsenal's starting striker last season, Havertz, scored 13 goals in the league.
Saliba calls Arsenal star "top three"
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Arsenal defender William Saliba called Martin Odegaard a "top three" midfielder in the world.
Saliba highlighted the importance of the Norwegian on his side. Arsenal have struggled this season without him.
Sporting fans launch fireworks at Arsenal
YEN.com.gh also reported that Sporting CP fans set off fireworks over Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya during their Champions League clash.
When the Gunners took the lead, irate fans set off smoke bombs, flares, and fireworks to try and scare the Gunners, who won 5-1.
