When it got to Yaw’s turn, the pastor, after muttering some words of prayers, immersed him into the river with his head backwards and lifted him up the first time.

However, upon his second immersion, Yaw could not be brought out as he strangely sunk deep down into the river.

Most Christians believe that baptism by immersion ought to be done three times to signify the ‘Father, Son and Holy Spirit’.

But Yaw sadly could not go through the ‘Son and Holy Spirit’ because he drowned.

Realizing what was happening, a man on the bank of the river seemed to have stretched his hand out so the drowning man could hold on to it but it was too late.

The pastor who seemed not to be an expert at swimming, together with another person swam himself to safety and called for help as recorded by the video.

All efforts to retrieve Kyeremeh’s body proved futile as he could not be found at the exact spot where he drowned.

It was suspected that Yaw and the pastor had gone deeper into the river defiling earlier advices not to do so.

Though the rest of the incident wasn’t recorded as it appeared the person recording the ‘ceremonial baptism’ had dropped his phone to join in the shout for help, voices in the background detailed what the witnesses were saying.
