CharterHouse release official voting results for #VGMA2018
- The 2018 VGMA was shrouded in controversy after some artiste complained of being “robbed” in their nominated categories
- The certified results showed that Patapaa had just 18.14% of votes in the popular song category
Organisers of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), CharterHouse Ghana, have released the official voting results for the 2018 edition.
The 2018 VGMA successfully came off last Saturday at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

The crème of the nation’s musical talents gathered to be celebrated, as awards were given to deserving artistes for their hard work in the year under review.
The winners of some categories raised questions among a section of the public, especially with regards to the Album of the Year and Most Popular Song category.
However, CharterHouse have now released the official voting results which was independently collated by KPMG.

The winners of various categories were determined based on votes by the Board, Academy, and the public.
The 19th edition of the Ghana Music Awards was held at the Accra International Conference Center.
Sarkodie, Samini, Stonebwoy, Tiwa Savage, Kwesi Arthur, Joe Mettle, King Promise, Kidi and Fancy Gadam were some of the performers on Ghana’s biggest music night.
The theme for the 19th edition of the event was “Our Music Beyond Borders” – to inspire Ghanaian artistes and music industry players to aspire toward making strong influences globally with their music and artistry.
It was hosted by Berla Mundi and John Dumelo.
