There is no doubt that journalism is a very reputable job. The chance to hold people to task and to appear on TV or radio week-in week-out is something many people behold dearly.

However, the reality is that journalists the world over do not earn that much, especially for those in their formative years.

It is an occupation that requires a lot of commitment, yet very little can be expected when it comes to remuneration. Perhaps, that is why it is casually referred to as a service to God and country.

That being said, there are some journalists in Ghana who have gathered a good amount of experience over the years and cannot be ranked among the least earners.

Even without knowing their pay-cheques, it is easy to make out that these are men and women whose outputs gets their pockets really filled.

1. Kwami Sefa Kayi

Veteran broadcaster Kwami Sefa Kayi has been the host of Peace FM’s Kokrokoo morning show for some years now. The radio and TV presenter has been in the media for over two decades and was recently adjudged the GJA Journalist of the year 2017.

Mr. Kayi is an accomplished man and is also into marketing and advertising. He is also an ambassador for a number of brands, including GOIL and MTN Ghana.

His accomplishments have earned him rave reviews from many people and he is certainly one of the most successful and richest journalists in the country presently.

2. Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr

Another very successful Ghanaian journalist currently is Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr. The veteran journalist has been in the business for over three decades.

He is also currently the Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, which he started in 1998.

3. Nana Aba Anamoah

One lady who has rivalled the men in the media domain over the last decade is Nana Aba Anamoah. The presenter used to work with TV3, but joined EIB Network’s GHOne Television over a year ago, where she currently serves as chief editor.

She has proved to be a successful woman, whose versatility has seen her host sports shows, present news and host many more programmes.

4. Captain Smart

Multimedia’s Captain Smart is also one of the top earning journalists in Ghana at present. He is currently the host of Adom FM’s morning show, having also worked with a number of media organisations.

The seasoned presenter boasts of a rich CV and is one of the senior figures at Multimedia Group presently. Captain Smart is also believed to be one of the richest media men in Ghana.

Host of Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana show, Paul Adom Otchere is a trailblazer in the media domain.

Having been a journalist for so long, Mr Otchere boats huge experience in the business and is regarded by many as the top earners.
