Police look for truck driver in Ashaiman market accident

- Police ask for relevant and credible information to pick upthe truck driver to aid in investigations

- The accident took place in the late morning of Thursday

On Thursday, a truck loaded with cement blocks ran into traders at a market area in Ashaiman. The police in Ashaiman are therefore in search of the driver who is currently at large after the incident.

The Ashaiman Police commander of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) DSP Isaac Forson, appealed to the general public to provide information relevant to the driver's arrest.

DSP Forson said, according to the report from kasapafmonline.com, that the police were hoping to quicken investigations and thus any credible information would lead to an immediate arrest of the driver.

The incident took place in the late morning of Thursday July 26. At least 5 vehicles were also damaged by the Kia truck whose driver police are looking for.

One person is confirmed dead from the incident. The fatality has been identified as a student who was on an errand to purchase airtime.

Others are in hospital for various degrees of injuries. Wares of traders at the market were also destroyed in the accident.
