Inspiring 75-year-old man graduates from top vocational institute

- A 75-year-old man has challenged the odds after graduating from a vocational institute as a professional fashion designer

- Gerald Kijjambu achieved this feat after years of hard work when he first enrolled to study tailoring in 2011

- The Ugandan-born, was awarded a certificate in both technical and vocational training from the Katonga Technical Institute

Gerald Kijjambu, a 75-year-old man has achieved a life-long dream after he graduated from a vocational institute as a professional fashion designer.

In 2011, Gerald Kijjambu enrolled to acquire skills in tailoring at 66 years.

The Ugandan native studied at the Katonga Technical Institute at Nindye Village in Nkozi Sub County, Mpigi District.

Three years later, he began studies in a tailoring course in the institute.

The determined 75-year-old man was among over 500 graduands who were awarded certificates in both technical and vocational training in 2019.

The certificate acknowledges his acquisition of skills in tailoring, plumbing, bricklaying, mechanics and other courses.

''I could not let this chance go without utilizing it despite my age,'' Gerald Kijjambu said in an interview.

After graduating with certification, Gerald Kijjambu, who was once a village tailor, would be working as a professional fashion designer while working on orders to make uniforms for various schools.

Meanwhile, adorable photos of the eventful nuptial of Ghana’s Minister of State in charge of Public Procurement, Sarah Adwoa Safo, to her fiancé has emerged on social media with the couple styled in Ghana’s timeless regal Kente cloth.

Sources tell Yen.com.gh that the Deputy Majority Leader of Ghana’s Parliament and her husband, Hanny Moutsiseb, have been dating away from the public radar for a while before their traditional marriage ceremony.
