- Madam Oye Lithur will be contesting the Adentan Constituency seat
Former Gender Minister Nana Oye Lithur has requested forgiveness from persons she may have unknowingly wronged.
The human rights lawyer is set to challenge for a seat in Parliament on the ticket of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mrs. Lithur is seeking to be elected as the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for the Adentan Constituency.
And she has asked everyone she may have offended to forgive her, insisting she wants to be on good terms with everyone.
“I have gone rounds in the Adentan Municipality and realized that many people listen to Power FM so there is no bigger platform to express myself than here,” she said on Power FM.
“So all that I am saying is that we are human beings and you know to err is human and to forgive is divine.”
The renowned lawyer reiterated her desire to take back the Adentan seat from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2020 general election.
Both the NDC and the NPP have held the seat since it was carved out from the Ashaiman constituency in 2004.
Meanwhile, it is worthy to note that no one has ever been elected in office for two terms as Member of Parliament for the Adentan Constituency.
