One of the senior architects of the June 4 coup d’état in 1979, Major [Retired] Osahene Boakye Gyan has made a damning allegation against former president Jerry John Rawlings.

According to the ex-soldier, the former president killed and drowned one of his closest lieutenants, Flt. Lt. Kojo Lee.

Major Boakye Gyan in an interview with Accra based Neat FM on Tuesday, December 11, 2019, alleged that Jerry Rawlings tied cement blocks to the legs of Lt. Kojo Lee, hanged him on a helicopter and drown him in the ocean.

I said he hanged Kojo Lee on the helicopter with blocks tied to his legs and drown him in the Atlantic Ocean. That is Rawlings for you,” Major Boakye Gyan said.

He also noted that, there was more to the death of late Kojo Lee.

Boakye Gyan further explained that Rawlings killed his closest confidant because, he [Rawlings] felt Lt. Lee knew a lot about him and could expose him, thus the former president’s decision to eliminate him.

A very fuming Boakye Gyan, challenged Jerry Rawlings to tell Ghanaians where Kojo Lee is, what happened or caused his death and even tell Ghanaians where Kojo Lee was buried.

Major Gyan also warned the former president to desist from spreading lies about him or he will spill all his dark secrets as a military officer during the revolution days.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has catalogued 87 major achievements of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that Ghanaians should judge and compare the Akufo-Addo led government with the erstwhile Mahama administration.

According to the vice president, when it comes down to a debate of facts and figures, he is convinced the NDC will fall flat and have nothing to show to Ghanaians.
