The funeral of famous German evangelist, Reinhard Bonnke, who died on Saturday, December 7, 2019, drew thousands around the world, especially from the US.

It should be noted that the cleric had preached in more than 50 countries and said he has converted 79 million people to Christianity, RNS reports.

Ministers of various churches have praised the late evangelist for his works. Renowned preachers like TD Jakes, Benny Hinn, and Paula White also paid their tributes.

Despite the fact that the crowd was racially divided, they both sang the preacher’s favourite hymn with a unified voice.

During the funeral, clips of where the pentecostalist had been, were filmed on the big white screen. One of the best-known crusades, which happened in November 2000, Lagos where about 1.6 million people gathered, was also shown.

It should be noted that towards the end of the preacher’s career, he held some of his revivals in the United States, a country he said must experience God’s true power.

In other foreign news, at least 40 mourners have been confirmed dead while 213 others are fighting for their lives following a stampede during the burial of slain Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani.

A sea of humanity had turned up Soleimani's home town of Kerman to pay its last respect to the Iran's elite Quds Force who was killed in one drone strike by the US army on January 3.
