Gloria Sarfo wins Ghana's only award at AMVCA 2020

Ghanaian actress and TV personality Gloria Sarfo has won the Best Supporting Actress award at the 2020 Africa Magic Viewer Choice Awards (AMVCA 2020).

Gloria Sarfo won the award for her role in Shirley Frimpong-Manso's Perfect Picture: 10 Years Later which features Jackie Appiah, Lydia Forson, Chris Attoh, and Richard Mofe-Damijo.

To win the award, Gloria shrugged off competition from Eucharia Anunobi, Mary Lazarus, Tina Mba, and Toni Tones.

Gloria's award happened to be the only one for Ghana as she was the country got only one nomination.

Gloria was not present at the awards night which happened in Lagos, Nigeria. But her award was received on her behalf by Beverly Naya, who also featured in the movie.

Believed to be in her late 30s, Gloria Sarfo started her mainstream acting career by featuring in Revele Films' Hotel Saint James in the mid-2000s.

But it was her role as Nana Ama, the mistress of Judge Koboo, in the popular Efiewura that brought her nationwide fame.

Since that time, she has gone ahead to forge a career in the entertainment industry including stints as a TV presenter.

Some of the movies she has featured in include The Most Beautiful Hour (2012), Friday Night (2008) and Friday Night 2 (2008).

She currently works as a presenter with Angel TV where she hosts their Twinovella show.

Gloria Sarfo was recently in the news defending her boss, Dr Kwaku Oteng over claims that he had married a fifth wife.
