Across the globe, frontline medical workers are terrified by the risk of contracting COVID-19 because of a swarm of new cases and the lack of protective equipment.

For pregnant health-care workers, circumstances are all the more frightening.

This group of medics has received praises for having risked not only their lives but also that of their unborn babies while saving the lives of people they barely know.

Scott Dworkin took to Twitter to celebrate the moms for their sacrifice.

"Not all heroes wear capes. There are healthcare workers like Dr Kate Otto Chebly who are eight months pregnant, working around the clock to fight the coronavirus," he tweeted.
"Help me make this string below viral so we can serve up some inspiration for everyone today. This is absolutely amazing," he added.

The applause came after Chelbi shared her experience of working on the frontline while pregnant and at the same time encouraging her colleagues who were in the same situation.

"So for every mama-HCW navigating this new world: you are seen and appreciated. You are not alone. You are tough and you will persevere," she wrote.
"Keep making the decisions that are right for you and your family. Wishing you strength, health, and peace as we progress together!" she added.

People were quick to shower the medic with praises for her selflessness in fighting the disease which has sent shock waves across the globe.
