A heartbroken woman, Valene Herold Weber, lost both her parents only days apart. Her mother, Eva, was admitted to the Rondebosch Medical Centre for a bladder infection two weeks ago, News24 reported.

However, on 18 June she was confirmed COVID-19 positive following mandatory testing. Eva did not show any symptoms at first but she contracted pneumonia and was placed on a ventilator three days after testing positive.

Hours after she was put on a ventilator, Eva passed away. Valene had to say goodbye to her mother and she wrote an emotional post on social media.

Part of her post read:

"Mommy mommy mommy this virus has robbed you from me. This came all to fast. It didn't give me time to hug you and or even say goodbye. Who would have thought you would leave us like this. Yes you had your illnesses and I think I would have accepted this OK if one of your illnesses was the cause of your death. But Covid-19 stole you."

Days after saying goodbye to her mother, Valene once again had to break devastating news online. She revealed her father loved her mom so much that he "couldn't wait to be with her."

Days after his wife tested positive, Neville Herold was admitted to hospital for a chest infection that made breathing difficult.

He too tested positive for the coronavirus. Both Neville and Eva were diabetics, YEN.com.gh learned.

Neville passed away on 25 June, the day his wife of 45 years was buried.

Valene wrote on her Facebook page:

"Yoh how hard can this get for me...Daddy daddy you missed mommy so much that you couldn't wait to be with her. I am so heart-sore and so jealous. You were such a gem I thank God every day that I got to call you daddy."
"Many times my friends would say Valene you spoilt and I would say I KNOW I am, Neville's princess Mos. My daddy you had the most generous heart, the most loving soul and oh how strict you were too."
"Daddy you left me too soon after mommy you didn't give me a chance to mourn mom and you didn't allow me to say bye to you. But I do understand your better half was no longer around and you wanted to be with her. I understand you guys were inseparable you loved her so much. So daddy with tears in my eyes and hurt in my heart rest well. I love you and mom always. You will forever be in my heart."
"You made your home a home for everybody. You never asked for anything in return you were so helpful so kind and always willing to go the extra mile. You had the most forgiving heart ever."
