Nigerian-British actor David Oyelowo has taken to social media to announce the death of his father who was battling with colon cancer.
The award-winning actor made the disclosure on his Instagram page, saying his heart was at peace because the old man was no longer in pain.
He shared a photo of the old man being kissed on the cheeks by his wife and their four children. He shared another image in which he and his brothers huddled around their dad.
According to Oyewolo, the real victory has been won because his dad is now with the Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
"He fought so hard to stick around for me, my brothers and his grandchildren. He would often say to me. “God has so much in store for you, and I want to be here to see it”.
The actor said his dad passed away peacefully this week, adding that he believes he is now reunited with his mum in heaven.
