KNUST students demand release of colleague remanded for saying he will burn Supreme Court

- Simon Awuni Ayamga, a student at KNUST was reportedly picked up by intelligence operatives & the police service after threatening to burn down the Supreme Court

- TEIN- KNUST students in the NDC have launched a plea & a demand on the police and the government to release their colleague

- According to the president of the group, a 3-day ultimatum is being given to the police for Simon to be released or another action will be taken

Students of the Tertiary Education Institution Network at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (TEIN- KNUST) have launched a plea on the Ghana Police Service.

As modernghana.com and ghananewsonline.com.gh report, the group of students belonging to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) are demanding the release of one Simon Awuni Ayamga who is a colleague of theirs.

This follows viral reports that emerged from a WhatsApp group indicating that Simon wanted to burn down the Supreme Court if the chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensah was not allowed to testify in court

It is indicated that lawyers of the student have said that ever since the news of Simon's arrest broke, efforts to get him traced and released have proven futile.

"Actually, we're giving the government a three-day ultimatum, if we don't hear anything from the government we'll take further actions," president of TEIN KNUST, Agyemang Simon said in a radio interview on Focus FM.

In a separate report, Ghanaian comedian and actor Clement Ashiteye better known as Clemento Suarez has attained a million followers on his Instagram handle @clementosuarez.
