A video of rapper DMX, Earl Simmons, saying a powerful prayer during an interview has resurfaced on social media.

The video that appears to have been recorded in the 90s showed DMX next to a group of ladies during a talk where he decided to pray.

The rapper started by asking God to bear with him as he was learning to pray before going on to give a wonderful prayer thanking God for the lives of everyone in his midst.

In the prayer with a poem's intonation, DMX noted he only called upon God when he was in despair but never when everything is going good for him.

He even promised to adjust, asking Him to show him the way, and he would live for him, rap and would love him unconditionally.

He also prayed:

"You gave me a love most of my life I did not know was there, I give you my life because you cared."

He ended the prayer, and everyone in the room applauded him with some noting how inspiring the prayer was.

Julie Gichuru, who shared the video on Instagram, noted what a beautiful prayer it was while also praying for DMX, who is currently hospitalised and in critical condition.

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that US rapper Earl Simmons aka DMX, collapsed in his house on Friday, April 2 and has been in hospital since.

The latest prognosis shows that the Grammy-nominated artiste's health has continued to deteriorate since he was put into the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

His children flew to New York to be by his side as he battles the effects of a substance overdose that supposedly triggered a cardiac arrest.

DMX is a father to 15 children, four of them with ex-wife Tashera Simmons and 11 from a series of extramarital affairs with other women.

A report by media outlet TMZ revealed that it took about 30 minutes for doctors to resuscitate the 50-year-old, a period in which he remained deprived of oxygen.

According to family members, that long duration of oxygen deficiency had a severe impact on his brain, making things look anything but good.
