The release of actress Akuapem Poloo from prison has been hailed by Ghanaian celebrities including Reggie Rockstone and Gloria Sarfo.

Earlier today, YEN.com.gh reported that Poloo had been released from prison on bail. Her release comes three days after she was granted bail by the High Court in Accra pending an appeal of an earlier conviction at the Circuit Court.

The High Court granted her bail in the sum of GHc80,000 with two sureties. She is to report to the case investigator every two weeks and is to deposit her passport with the registrar of the court.

Despite the bail on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, Poloo who is otherwise known as Rosemond Alade Brown was sent to the Nsawam Prisons after processes for the bail were not completed.

According to a report YEN.com.gh sighted on Starrfm.com.gh, Poloo signed her bail bond on Friday morning. The report noted that Poloo was looking traumatised and pale while signing her bail bond.

In reacting to news about her bail, some colleagues of the actress have expressed joy over her release.

Reggie Rockstone: "AMEN CAN I GET AN AMEN."

Gloria Sarfo added: "God bless you all."

Singer Lay Jay also wrote: "Now @akuapem_poloo will take over the world as she should .. more love more vim more blessing ❤️❤️❤️❤️ now im going"

In other news, Shatta Wale, the self-acclaimed African Dancehall King says he is taking a break from social media.

Known for his antics online especially via Facebook Live, he declined to give the reasons why he made the decision except to say "due to my own reasons."

It is unknown if he will be working on a new musical project during the break.

"I'm Going off social media From the 26th of April 2021 due to my own reasons. Thank you and I love you all," reads a tweet by Wale announcing his decision.
