A Ghanaian businessman who looks just like NAM1, Abdul Mahmoud, is fearing for his life because of mistaken identity.
In an interview monitored by YEN.com.gh on TV3, Mahmoud, who bears a striking resemblance to the defunct Menzgold boss says he has been harassed on countless occasions because of that.
Strangely, he shares the same birthday, May 16, with NAM1, known in private life as Nana Appiah Mensah.
Opening up on one of the assaults, Mahmoud said Facebook deleted his posts made on his birthday because people reported his account and he was accused of violating community standards.
In another instance, Mahmoud said he was delayed several times at the airport when he was travelling.
According to him, while everyone had boarded the plane, he would still be held hostage at the security checkpoints.
On a different occasion, Mahmoud’s ability to speak Hausa is what saved him as some young men approached him while he sat in his car and were ready to attack him.
He said one told the others in Hausa that “this is him, let’s get rid of him”, so when they got to the other side of the car, where he was seated, he quickly told them in Hausa that he is a Muslim and that he is not NAM1.
Meanwhile, NAM1 has been wanted by Menzgold customers after he failed to pay back locked investment funds worth over millions of dollars.
