Photos: Five powerful Ghanaian women who rock short hair

Marriage counsellor, George Lutterodt, provoked public outrage with remarks he made about women which were deemed disparaging.

He said women of marital age who cut their hair create the impression that they are frustrated by poverty and cannot afford a good hair-do at a salon.

But is it true that the low haircut that some women wear is informed by poverty?

1. Joyce Aryee

She is the executive director of the Salt and Light Ministry, and a former CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Mines launching the book.

2. Gifty Afanyi Dadzie

She is the national prayer director for Aglow Ghana.

3. Anna Bossman

She is a former acting commissioner of CHRAJ and currently the director for Integrity and Anti-Corruption Department of the African Development Bank.

She is a Ghanaian motivational speaker and author. She is the CEO of Legacy & Legacy and executive director of Springboard Roadshow Foundation. She is also the co-founder of Combert Impressions.

5. Akorfa Edjeani-Asiedu

She is a veteran actress and movie producer.
