Afua Asantewaa’s brother-in-law speaks addresses separation claims
On Thursday, April 2, 2026, a reported brother of Kofi Owusu Aduonum, Afua Asantewaa’s husband, came out to debunk certain narratives surrounding their split.
In a video shared by Bless Star on TikTok, he pushed back against claims by Afua Asantewaa that she took care of her husband during their marriage.
He also said viral claims that the media personality helped his brother relocate abroad were inaccurate, noting that Kofi Aduonum was wealthy and had first travelled abroad before bringing his wife along.
“The truth is that my brother is a journalist who worked at Graphic Sports and Daily Guide, so he was a very close friend of Kenpong and Kwabena Yeboah. He is very rich, he is just quiet, he doesn't like talking. He is so humble that every woman should be able to stay with him,” he said.
“In fact, my brother went to Canada before Afua Asantewaa came; he stayed there for a year before she joined him,” he added.

Afua Asantewaa replies brother-in-law’s claims
In a TikTok video shared by Bless Star, Afua Asantewaa responded to her brother-in-law’s claims and said they were all false.
An angry Afua denigrated her husband as ‘broke’ and said when they first went abroad, he did not have even a ‘cedi’ on him.
“Ask my husband if, when he left Ghana for Canada, he even had GH₵1 in his pocket? Tell him to ask his brother, then when all three of us went to Canada, was it not my money, over $1,200, that was used to rent for us?
“Harry, you know this! Now you have come onto TikTok to claim that you know your brother and that he is very rich. He introduced me to Kenpong, and it did what? I have earned every relationship with my hard work and credibility,” she said.

Afua Asantewaa added that her husband never funded her lifestyle as was being claimed by his brother, noting that she got her own sponsors for her events.
She also addressed an old anniversary message of her celebrating her husband, noting that was how she felt back then, but was now speaking out due to suffering emotional abuse.
“So if I celebrated him on my third anniversary, does it mean that when he later puts me through emotional torture, I cannot speak up? That is what is killing women in society.
"I am not saying he is a devil, I am not saying I am 100% perfect, but I am a very bold person, I don't care what anybody thinks, this is my life. If we are separated, we are separated, and that is the truth; the divorce would follow soon,” she said.
