Mubarak Wakaso has recounted an encounter between himself and World Best footballer Lionel Messi

The Ghanaian footballer added that his Black Stars teammate always teases him by sending a video of the match to him

Ghanaian international footballer Mubarak Wakaso has granted an interview in which he recounted how he was mercilessly dribbled by Argentine star Lionel Messi during a match in Spain.

Mubarak Wakaso indicated that he was left stunned by a one-on-one encounter he had with Lionel Messi which had the Barcelona man having the better of the Ghanaian.

When asked how he took the drubbing, Wakaso said he was left in awe by the skill of Messi and was deeply pained that he had been used for 'advert' on the field of play.

The Black Stars talisman indicated that the said world-class dribbling encounter with Messi happened some 2 seasons ago and has always left him thinking about it.

However, Wakaso indicated that there was a time in his career that he brought the Argentine down on the field in an encounter.

He added that an encounter with Barcelona was a big deal and they had to ensure that they made the best of the day.

While speaking in the interview, Wakaso indicated that his Black Stars colleague Christian Atsu, always sends him the video of how Messi dribbled him and laughs at him over it.

Wakaso jokingly called Atsu "kwasia" in the interview as he laughed off how irritating it was to be teased by his own countryman.

This comment passed by the footballer caused laughter in the room as the interviewer and crew were heard laughing.

Lionel Messi is noted as one of the best footballers in the world and an encounter with him is always characterised by immense skills and beautiful goals that leave his fans, as well as his opponents in awe.

In other news, Black Stars player, Kwadwo Asamoah, has donated an amount of $20,000 to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital to help the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Kwadwo Asamoah joined the list of players who have donated to help the effort to curb the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 31-year-old gave generously to the hospital which is located in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi, where he was born.

Since President Akufo-Addo set up the COVID-19 fund, Ghanaian footballers such as Asamoah Gyan, Andre Ayew, Kasim Nuhu and Danny Welbeck among others have donated either in cash or in kind to support the government of Ghana in the fight against the deadly virus.
