St Louis SHS teacher arrested after paying student rape victim GHS10K to shut up

An English teacher at the St. Louis Senior High School (SHS) has been arrested for allegedly forcing himself on one of his female students.

Teacher Douglas Adade is currently in police grip after a female student lodged a complaint against him on accusations of rape.

The embattled tutor, popularly known on the school’s campus as ‘Sir Doggie’, is reportedly noted for requesting for sex from students in exchange for grades - hence his nickname.

According to a report by MyNewsGh.com, upon being reported to the police, Sir Doggie went ahead to meet the victim and gave her GHS10,000 for “outside settlement”.

The amount was meant to silence the victim from making any further complaints about her ordeal, the report said.

The teacher has since been interdicted by the Ashanti Regional Education Directorate following the rape charges filed against him.

This comes after another teacher of the Kumasi Girls SHS, identified as Mathew Asante-Darko, was summoned by the Ghana Education Service (GES) Disciplinary Committee for allegedly sleeping with his student.

The Visual Arts teacher is reported to have taken advantage of a female student placed under his care by drugging and raping her without her notice.
