Ghanaian hiplife duo Akatakyie has lamented on how event organizers turn to ignore old artistes when booking concerts.
Akatakyie, made of up Ebenezer and Prince, has jabbed event organizers for sidelining old artistes like them.
According to the duo, it is somewhat worrying to see only new artistes play all the events while the old artistes are not called upon.
In an exclusive interview with YEN TV, Akatakyie expressed their disappointment at top players in the music industry.
The duo recalled how they used to be one of the top artistes in the early 2000s until they went off the scene.
Akatakyie noted that even though they have not been in the limelight for a long while now, they are still working as artistes.
They jabbed event organizers as they claimed the organizers are only interested in calling up new artistes, leaving the old ones.
The 'Sinsima' hitmakers lamented the difficulty they faced in the music industry as they stressed that event organizers should have been booking them for shows.
According to them, Ghanaians still love their music and they are in position to rub shoulders with Shatta Wale and all the new artistes.
The duo claimed that they are still relevant in the industry so they do not understand why event organizers do not bill them for events.
Akatakyie further lamented how event organizers pay foreign artistes huge sums of money while paying Ghanaian artistes small amounts.
According to them, Ghanaian artistes also deserve to be paid such huge sums of money like ones given to foreign artistes.
The duo has also announced their comeback into the industry, revealing that they have new management.
The group disclosed that they will be releasing a video for their new single 'Metwa A Medi' that has already began making waves after its release.
Akatakyie asked their fans to watch out for them since they are back into the industry to thrill Ghanaians with good music.
