Video drops of 25 Nigerian commercial sex workers arrested in Bono region

- The Ghana Immigration service in the Bono East region has swooped in on 25 commercial sex workers

- All 25 of them are believed to be Nigerian national living in Ghana without proper documentation

- The swoop carried out at brothels in Nkoranza South and Kintampo South on Saturday and Sunday dawn respectively

Commercial sex workers known in other terms as prostitutes or in the local parlance 'Ashawo' has been one of the trade that has been identified as an illegal trade to ply in Ghana.

Due to the nature of such trades, there are unending cases of sexually related infections like HIV/AIDS over the years which the government s trying as much as it can to reduce the dangers of this particular trade.

YEN.com.gh has however sighted a video on JoyNews on how some persons believed to be plying this illegal and immoral trade in the Bono region.

According to the video, the ladies totalling 25 in number a believed to be foreign national who trace their nationality to Nigeria.

According to the GIS, most of them had no papers that makes them liable to stay

Meanwhile social media users have reacted differently to the viral video justifying reasons for their actions while others criticized them.

Humble said their government needs o put some measures in place.

Ekow said sending them back would make no difference. He believes they sgould be equipped with skill set to help them.

Cyprian said he believes Nigerian would one day become the best country.

Osas who is a Nigerian said the Ghana police service should try their best to arrest the bad Nigerians who are tarnishing the image of Nigerians.

Abobby said JoyNews being a Ghanaian media was just out to witch hunt Nigerians.

In other news, President Akufo-Addo has stated that he does not need the help of the Electoral Commission (EC) to win the 2020 election.

He said he wants to retain power because it is the people’s will, and not because the EC provided a helping hand.

The President said this when some officials of the EC paid him a visit at the Jubilee House on Thursday, September 12, 2019.
