Despite completing the 2019 West African Examination Certificate Examination (WASSCE) with a near distinction, Sackey Abednego, a former student of Kade Senior High/Technical School, faces a real challenge of not being able to further his education.
Sackey Abednego graduated high school with remarkable scores of 7As and a B3.
The former science student chalked all As in Elective and Core Mathematics, Integrated Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Social Studies and a B3 in English Language.
Despite this laudable feat, Sackey Abednego, may not be able to further his education for the 2019 tertiary academic year because he cannot afford to pay for his university education fees.
The former student of Subriso L/A JHS, who currently teaches science at the Kwaebibirem Municipal basic school in the Eastern Region, took to Facebook to appeal for support.
''My name is Sackey Abednego. I completed School at Subriso L/A JHS and Kade SHS in the Kwaebibirem Municipal Assembly. I offered science and had the result here but unfortunately for me my single mum who provides for me passed out before my final exams,'' Sackey’s post said on Facebook.
The brilliant Ghanaian pupil teacher added: ''[I'm] therefore pleading with the stake holders and the good people of Ghana to help me financially to further my education at the tertiary level. My contact is 0245251449. God bless the helping hand. Amen.''
Meanwhile, a photo of Ghana’s President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo performing an impressive role as a pageboy during the blissful wedding ceremony of JB Danquah in 1951 has left many utterly mesmerized.
The historic photo of then little Nana Akufo-Addo in a regal white outfit, seated next to JB Danquah, a former Ghanaian statesman and lawyer, has generated pleasant commentaries after the photo was shared by a popular Facebook page.
Nana Akufo-Addo was captured in a photo with JB Danquah, his wife, and the flower girl, together with some other guests.
