Ghana made history when the flawless Star Nyaniba Annan represented the nation in the country's first-ever participation in Miss World pageant in 1959 which came off at the Lyceum Ballroom in London.

Miss Ghana, Star Nyaniba Annan, debuted on the global stage in the 9th edition of the Miss World in 1959.

It was Ghana’s first appearance on the revered international platform which earned global headlines and was the first to be televised by the BBC.

37 stunning queens contested for the Miss World that year and Ghana's Star Nyaniba Annan didn’t fail to highlight the country's flag on the global platform.

One of the photos show Star Nyanoba Annan strutting elegantly on the pageant stage in her sleeveless short Kente outfit and a Ghana branded sash.

Adorable photos of Star Nyaniba Annan have surfaced online and her flawless beauty has generated quite a buzz.

The ninth edition of the Miss World pageant was held on November 10, 1959 at the Lyceum Ballroom in London, United Kingdom.

And this was Ghana’s first participation of the Miss World beauty competition.

The winner was Corine Rottschäfer, who represented Holland. She was crowned by Miss World 1958, Penelope Anne Coelen of South Africa.

Meanwhile, recent activities of some officers of the Ghana Police Service have helped to largely restore its public image with Ghanaians including another benevolent gesture of Lance Corporal Simon Agbeko Ekpeagba.

The kind-hearted police officer, who is stationed at the Accra Regional Command has earned a special spot in the hearts of many Ghanaians stemming from a good deed he undertook as part of a community service.
