In the 5th episode of the first season for the Treadstone series which was released on November 12, 2019, a section of the cast and production team moved to Ghana to shoot on location.

The episode saw some of the major characters of the series flying down to Ghana and moving to the Central region for some fantastic scenes.

In one of the scenes, the character Tara Coleman, played by Tracy Ifeachor, attended a Ghanaian funeral to meet a friend who was dancing 'adowa' at one of Ghanaian's coastal communities.

The two later moved to a bar and were seen drinking one of Ghana's most famous alcoholic beverages.

However, some Ghanaian movie critics are excited that the producers of Treadstone moved away from Hollywood and other locations to shoot in Ghana at some of the country's historic locations.

Tara later moved to Elmina, where the antique Elmina Castle had been beautifully converted into a prison.

It follows sleeper agents across the globe as they’re mysteriously ‘awakened’ to resume their deadly missions.

Though the principal recording of the series was done in Budapest, several scenes were shot from locations around the world including Ghana.
