Heavy military presence forces people to use Madina footbridge
The controversial footbridges constructed at Madina and SDA junction on the Accra-Aburi road was abandoned by pedestrians because of the hustle of climbing it.

After its construction, the very pedestrians that called for the bridges left it and were crossing the road directly under the bridge.
A tweet sighted by by Godfred Akoto Boafo has revealed that the presence of military men at the foot of the bridge caused several people to cross it.

It is obvious that the only thing Ghanaians understand is oppression and force.
Had it not been for the military presence at the location this morning, they would still be crossing the road directly beneath the bridge.
Ghanaians have reacted to then tweet, as most of them did not understand why force was needed to make them use the very thing they asked for.

Kwadwo simply said Ghanaians like to be forced.
Dadegbomo asked if it should be so.
Benjamin believes traffic and sanitation management should be ceded to the military for just one quarter.
Joe believes the initiative will not last.
Sammy believes people should be flogged and left on their own should they be caught in the act.
