COVID-19: Akufo-Addo gives 4th national address at Jubilee house

The Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin has in a Facebook post revealed that President Akufo-Addo addresses the nation from Jubilee House today.

His post was to debunk earlier media and social media reports that suggested that he was going to address the nation on the coronavirus from Parliament.

The Majority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu made this known while reading a business statement on the floor of the House today.

“Because of the rapid unfolding events [about the coronavirus], the President will be addressing the nation today,” the Majority Leader said.

President Akufo-Addo has over the last fews weeks been addressing the nation on the measures taken by his government to curtail the spread of the deadly COVID-19.

More often than not, these addresses are done during a Facebook live session since it would be easier to reach a large audience through social media

Meanwhile, President Nana Akufo-Addo says his decision to mandatorily quarantine all travelers who arrived in Ghana after March 21, 2020, has yielded good results.

According to the president, he has been vindicated following the number of persons who tested positive after tests were conducted on the persons who are being held upon arrival in the country.

Akufo-Addo opined that majority of the country’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) case count is from the population of people under mandatory quarantine.
