Kumawood actor Wayoosi has praised former president John Mahama for helping save his life when he was critically ill some time ago.
He disclosed that in 2016, he suffered a serious health condition that almost caused his life.
According to the actor, he was admitted at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for many months, and as he depleted his resources, he was left wanting.
However, Mahama came to his aid when he delegated his then Minister for Tourism, Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare, to send him cash and items.
Wayoosi said Mahama’s intervention came at the right time, adding that he could have been dead if he had not received that help.
He stressed that apart from God who used the doctors to save his life, Mahama is the second person all his gratitude would go to.
His reaction has triggered massive reactions from Ghanaians with some saying that he was indirectly campaigning for Mahama.
Babee, for instance, wondered why Wayoosi would record such a video just a few weeks to elections:
ashantibabee: “So 2017 and u thanking him 2020 ok just a few weeks to elections.”
Lawrencia advised Wayoosi to go to Mahama’s house and thank him there:
amanlawrencia8: “Metweeeeeee, why don't you go to his house and thank him.”
Akuapempolooba also wrote that Wayoosi might have taken some money from Mahama:
akuapem_poloooba: “By now wagye biiibi nono ooo.”
Meanwhile, two of Waayosi’s colleagues, Mr. Beautiful, and Michael Afranie, has publicly declared their support for Mahama.
The two have hit the ground running campaigning for Mahama and the National Democratic Congress.
Other celebrities including Samini, Sarkodie, Obour, Agya Koo, and others, have all declared support for Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and have released songs.
