The state funeral which is currently ongoing in honour of former president of Ghana, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings is nearing an end with the final military burial in Accra.
Prior to the burial, late Jerry John Rawlings is being given a final military respect owing to the fact that he is a retired airman.
As a result of his stature as an ex-president and former commander-in-chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, late JJ Rawlings is being given a military honour.
Before he is finally put 6 feet in the ground, he was driven through some principal streets of the capital city, Accra.
Personnel from all security services in the country were made to form a route line to give the departed former president a befitting guard of honour on his way to the military cemetery in Accra.
A number of helicopters were also made to fly over some of the principal streets of Accra and also accompany the casket of the ex-president to his final resting place.
The state funeral of the former president was held at the Black Star Square in Accra and was attended by both present and past government officials.
Among the top officials who graced the funeral were President Akufo-Addo, Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and former president John Dramani Mahama.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the last daughter of late former president Jerry John Rawlings and Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, Amina, has been spotted crying at her dad's funeral.
In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh on Instagram, Amina Rawlings was tasked to read Nana Konadu's tribute to her husband on the final day of the state funeral.
While eulogizing her father and reminiscing on the special moments shared between her parents on her mum's behalf, Amina could not help but break down in tears.
