Prince Harry and Meghan's firstborn son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor turned two today.
Archie was born in England on May 6, 2019, to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex who stepped down from royal duties in 2020.
Members of the royal family shared their birthday message to the young one on the official Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Instagram page.
"Wishing Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a very happy 2nd birthday today," read the statement.
Accompanying the post was a photo of the royal family members taken after Archie was born.
Archie's grandfather Prince Charles also wrote an independent Tweet with his birthday message for the two-year-old.
"Happy birthday to Archie, who turns two today," he expressed.
There was, however, an uproar online as people picked issue with the fact that Archie's biological grandfather used an old photo to pass the birthday message.
In both birthday wishes from the Queen and his grandfather Prince Charles, the royals used photos of Archie as a small baby as much as he is now a two-year-old.
"Where's the real picture of the 2-year-old? So far I've only seen baby pics from 2 years ago."
"Sad! Very sad state of affairs when the supposed future king cuts the mother of his grandchild out of the photo with which he chooses to share."
"How sad that a grandfather has only old photos. Sad and very odd."
Harry and Meghan, who now live in California, are expecting their second child, a girl.
