News reaching YEN.com.gh indicates that some irate youth of the community have blocked the highway in protest of reckless driving after a speeding vehicle crushed an elderly man to death.

They burnt tyres during the spontaneous protest, causing massive vehicular traffic.

According to a report sighted on Starrfm.com.gh, the speeding vehicle crushed the man to death whilst he was crossing the road at about 7:30 pm.

The “man’s mortal remain was shredded and littered on the road,” the report noted.

The irate youth created unbearable gridlock on the highway for close to an hour until the arrival of armed police to the scene.

They reportedly had to resort to the firing of warning shots to disperse the raging youth and clear the road to traffic.

Still in Amanse, YEN.com.gh earlier report, angry residents there set ablaze a vehicle belonging to some five suspected ritual murderers.

The suspects are; Prince Adjololo, 26, Solomon Adjololo, 28, Mintah Benjamin, 23, Felix Haya, 27, and Akwasi Tenkorang, 27.

They were arrested by a mob when they allegedly tried abducting a child in the community for rituals, Myjoyonline reported.

The irate youth took the suspects to the chiefs’ palace for interrogation, howling for their blood while wielding sticks and machetes.

They would have been lynched to death but for the timely intervention of police reinforcement from Kibi and Suhum.

Angry with the protection being given to the suspects by the police, the residents reportedly pelted stones at the police, damaging a police vehicle with registration number GP 2867 in the process.

The police fired warning shots to disperse the angry youth before they could rescue the suspects.

In other news, there has been a ghastly murder at Dida in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.

According to a report sighted on Classfmonline, a 25-year-old woman was murdered in the district on Friday, May 7, 2021.

The deceased was identified as one Abena Afriyie popularly called “Mother”. She was reportedly found dead at the outskirts of the Dida community with three of her right fingers, two left fingers, and some of her toes missing.

One of her breasts was also cut, the Unit Committee Chairman for the area, Osei Kwadwo, confirmed.
