Takoradi port recruitment for security assistants
The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority has opened recruitment for interested individuals to fill vacant positions in the security department as security assistants.
Scores of unemployed Ghanaians on Thursday thronged the Essipong sports stadium in Sekondi in a bid to be recruited as security assistants at the Takoradi Port.
Sources say that there are about 30 vacancies to be filled.

In Ghana, the unemployment rate measures the number of people actively looking for a job as a percentage of the labour force.
According to the Ghana Statistical Service, unemployment rate in Ghana decreased to 5.20% in 2013 from 5.96% in 2010. Unemployment rate in Ghana averaged 8.82% from 2001 until 2013, reaching an all time high of 12.90% in 2005 and a record low of 5.20% in 2013.
But a World Bank report dubbed "Landscape of Jobs in Ghana" released early on this month revealed that about 48% of youth in the country between 15-24 years have no jobs.
