Veteran Ghanaian actor Kofi Adjorlolo has defended the Igbo King in Ghana after he faced backlash following an alleged snub by the Otumfuo’s kyeame.

Eze Chuckwudi Jude Ihenetu, known as the Igbo King in Ghana, grabbed headlines when he was stopped from greeting the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at Manhyia Palace during the Asantehemaa’s funeral.
In a viral video, Otumfuo’s linguist (kyeame), directing affairs, stopped Eze Igbo from shaking the Asante monarch’s hand as other people had.

Social media users jabbed the Igbo King in the aftermath of the incident, with many expressing joy over the action taken by the Otumfuo’s kyeame.

Kofi Adjorlolo defends Igbo King from backlash
In a video seen by YEN.com.gh on TikTok, Kofi Adjorlolo defended the Igbo King, insisting he was a good man.
He spelled out how he had helped Ghanaian actors and producers by providing his residence and cars to be used for movie shoots.
“That man has helped us a lot; he has helped the industry a lot. I don't care what people say about him. People don't know, he has invested in and sponsored films in Ghana. What I know him for is the fact that he has helped the industry, he's given his house for us to shoot films, and he's given his cars for us to shoot,” he said.

Blogger reacts to Kofi Adjorlolo's Igbo King defence
In an interview with YEN.com.gh, Ghanaian blogger Adu Sarpeah slammed Kofi Adjorlolo for defending the Igbo King.
"Kofi Adjorlolo is only interested in his personal gain at the expense of the next generation. If nothing at all, Ghanaians should use the Mamprusi and Kusasi issue as a case study to do everything possible to stop the rumoured establishment of an Igbo Kingdom in Ghana from happening," he said.

Igbo King speaks after Manhyia snub
Previously, YEN.com.gh reported that the Igbo King denied being embarrassed during his appearance at the Asantehemaa's funeral.
In a video, Eze Jude Ihenetu explained that he was never denied the chance to greet Otumfuo as had been widely reported.
