The National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations (NASDAQ) has honoured President John Dramani Mahama in New York.

The Ghanaian leader's picture appeared at the NASDAQ stock exchange in Times Square ahead of a high-level executive business roundtable.

The US Chamber of Commerce organised the event in collaboration with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC).

According to a report by Ghanaweb, the roundtable programme would attract American investors and Ghanaian business leaders, and is designed to strengthen trade ties, highlight Ghana’s investment opportunities, and deepen bilateral economic cooperation.

President Mahama's attendance at NASDAQ demonstrated Ghana's commitment to establishing itself as a competitive investment destination and highlighted the increasing importance of the continent's emerging markets to the global financial system.

The event has coincided with an increase in US-African economic cooperation, as Ghana looks to capitalise on its position as home of the Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to draw in long-term foreign direct investment.

Business leaders from energy, finance, agriculture and technology sectors are expected to participate in the discussions, which aim to create new pathways for private sector partnerships between the two countries.

The chief executive officer of Legacy Rise looked dapper in a stylish white long-sleeve shirt and designer suit for her photoshoot.
