The actress shared the news on Instagram on Sunday, posting a photograph of her late father alongside a deeply personal message.

She disclosed that he passed away unexpectedly several weeks ago, and that the timing made things even harder; she had already been carrying the weight of losing a close friend around the same period.

"A man who was an integral part of my life, the man who led me to Christ, my only living parent, my Dad, passed away suddenly," she wrote in the post.

Esoro was candid about her struggle to process the grief. She admitted to keeping herself occupied with work, social events, and planning as a way of getting through the days, but acknowledged that none of it has offered any real relief.

She described the grief as something that does not follow a pattern, hitting at unexpected moments and in ways she finds hard to put into words.

"This kind of grief is different. It is heart-wrenching and almost impossible to explain. Some days, I am genuinely happy. Other days, a wave of sadness hits me so suddenly and so deeply that I almost don't know what to do with it or how to react," she shared.

Faith remains Lilian Esoro's anchor

Even through the pain, the actress said her faith has kept her grounded. She was clear that her belief in God has not wavered, writing:

"It is well with my soul. God is still God! With him there is no controversy."
